Congratulations to Scout Leader ‘Goat’ for completing his Wood Badge Project – ‘Goats Grove’.

For Scout Leaders, the Wood Badge is the highest level of training that can be achieved for a leader of youth. Goat aka Glendon, has dedicated many years of effort to our scouting youth and we congratulate him on this achievement. All our leaders look forward to the official presentation of your Gilwell scarf and wood beads.

What! No truffle oil!

All three patrols at McDB Scouts participated in a 20 ingredient cooking challenge. The ingredients where based on light weight food items suitable for hikes and they were challenged to create a three course meal.

Joey District Camp 2013

Joey - Bush Magic - Science

A little bit of science magic!

Bravo to the 41 Joeys that braved the weather and attended the Sir Leslie Wilson District Joey Mob camp. A great time was had by all.

The Bush Magic theme came to life with a combination of fun, science, a mystical campfire and the magic that exists in nature.

Joeys Celebrate Chinese New Year

Joeys - Chinese New Year

Joeys do the Dragon Dance for Chinese New Year

Thank you to the Grovely Mitchelton Joey mob for visiting us as part of the Buddy Challenge to celebrate Chinese New Year. Each Joey decorated their own section of the dragon and after a few tricky games with chop sticks, the night culminated with ‘The Dragon Dance’. A big thank you to Joey Leaders Wombat and Phoenix for organising the night. All the Joeys had a hoot.

The Buddy Challenge is part of the Joey Scout Award Scheme where activities are focused on making friends and caring for our Buddies.

The Grovely Mitchelton Joey Mob is another of the Joey Mobs in the Sir Leslie Wilson district.
